The Washington Nationals showed the most promise out of the major professional sports in the District of Columbia. The Nats had high hopes coming into the 2015 season. Those hopes were dashed and fans were left pondering the question D.C sports fans know very well, “what went wrong?”. The Washington Redskins are off to a solid start at 2-2 considering their last two seasons they have had seven combined wins. The most exciting DC sports team over the past two years has undoubtedly been the Washington Wizards. After being woeful for so long, John Wall and company have given the most powerful city in the world a chance to add some trophies to the case.
As the Wizards look to compete in the East, they have some hard teams to face. They lack the firepower of Cleveland, Atlanta, and maybe even Toronto. The Wizards’ coach, Randy Wittman, also has a lot to prove this year. He took the reigns of a bad Wizards team and made it decent, he then took a decent Wizard’s team to the playoffs, beating the Chicago Bulls but later falling to the Pacers with a weak Eastern Conference that was crippled by the injury of Derrick Rose, the Wizards should comfortably be a fifth or sixth seed. Looking to compete against the best of the conference like the Cleveland Cavs and Atlanta Hawks.
