College football will see major changes next season with the introduction of a postseason playoff system. This new, simple format will allow more teams to compete for the BCS National Championship, but also ensure the two best teams will play on the biggest stage.

At the end of the season, a new selection committee will choose the best four teams to compete compete for the National Championship. The selection committee will choose the four teams based on their performance during the regular season, including, strength of schedule, head-to-head results, championships won, and other factors. The #1 seed will play the #4 seed in one semifinal game and the #2 seed will play the #3 seed in the other. The winners of the respective games will face each other in the championship.
implications of certain bowl games will make them even more important. Next year, the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl will serve as platforms for the semifinal games. The traditional top six bowl games will rotate hosting the semifinal games each year.
