There could be many causes behind Harden’s poor shooting. For some, people believe it can blamed on Harden’s various injuries throughout the summer and limited opportunities to get in game rhythm. Yet this theory can be detested by James’s strong output in his few preseason appearances.
Other critics, fans, and analysts believe it is something that you might laugh at or feel unapologetic towards. Most fans fear the athlete is placed under a curse by a rapper Lil B. or better known to some as the “BasedGod”. The rapper claims Harden took credit for his famous cooking dance, seen all around the sports world. The rapper first placed the hex on Harden in the 2014-15 Western Conference Finals, in a series against the Golden State Warriors. The following game, Harden posted 12 turnovers, and NBA single-game playoff record, which ultimately led to his team’s defeat. Over the summer, Lil B lifted the curse, stating that he felt sorry for the baller’s loss of mojo.
Despite this, Harden continued to behave in his errant ways, posting an Instagram photo of him doing the dance. The caption read, “7 days until the cook is back to work! #HTown,. thus inciting the BasedGod to recurse Harden, stating that: “Y’all see how James Harden is playing because he won’t acknowledge he does the lil b cooking dance sports celebration. Sad, cursed-Lil B”.
Whether or not you believe in Jinxes, Harden is playing some of the worst ball of his career, and there is no clear reason to why the “BasedGod” won’t release him from his jinx.
