James at 30-years-old became the youngest player in NBA history to score 25,000 points after he threw down an alley-oop dunk from teammate Matthew Dellavedova. The bucket, his 22nd point of the game, gave him 25,001 points and led to 107-100 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
So is Lebron the best basketball player to play the game?
“No, Being the greatest player doesn't only involve scoring. Scoring points is not all I think about.” said Alex Trippi (‘17)
Additionally, Bullis Varsity Basketball Shooting Guard Noah Gear (‘16) said,“Due to his recent record, being the youngest player in NBA history to reach 25,000 pts, along with clenching two NBA titles and two postseason MVP honors, Lebron James should now be in conversation with the greatest to ever play the game of basketball.”
Entering his 13th season in the NBA, it will be interesting to see if he can lead the talented Cleveland Cavaliers to the championship again and win this time. If Lebron is able to win another championship, it will certainly make it harder for those to argue that he is not in contention to be the best to ever play the game.
