Tony Romo is getting old, as he is approaching 35 he has had several back surgeries, hand surgery, sports hernias and collar bone surgery. With football already being a physical sport, it is hard for an aging quarterback to compete while aging with injuries.
It’s about that time for Jones starts looking for Romo’s successor. Romo has a few seasons left before it is time to hang it up. But it is very clear that he gets injured, especially when the cowboys need him the most. With the draft coming up and a 5-8 record, it’s probably best for the Cowboys to lose out so they can get a higher draft spot.
Another QB they can draft in the early second round is Christian Hackenberg. Hack is extremely talented but struggled throughout his college career because lack of talent, poor line play and coaching changes. That’s something Hack or Jerry Jones should have to worry about because of receivers like Witten, Bryant and Williams with a ferocious OL lead by Tryon Smith and Travis Frederick.
With a lot of things to address this offseason because of the poor season produced by the Dallas Cowboys. Look for Jerry Jones to address his quarterback position and find a successor for Romo as he approaches the end of his career.
