Leonard Fournette Running Back LSU
Averaging a remarkable 126 rushing yards per game, Leonard Fournette is the star of the undefeated LSU Tigers. A top recruit out of high school, he has taken College Football by storm in his second year as a sophomore.
Nick Chubb Running Back UGA
Like Fournette, Nick Chubb is another sophomore SEC running back having great success. After replacing the injured Todd Gurley (St. Louis Rams) last year, Chubb began a streak of 100 yard rushing games that is now one game away from surpassing former Heisman Winner Herschel Walker’s record of 13 straight.
Trevone Boykin Quarterback TCU
After being left out of the College Football Playoff last year, Trevone Boykin has been a man on a mission leading TCU to a 5-0 start with 1802 passing yards and 19 total TDs. Along with star receiver Josh Doctson, who has eight TDs, Trevone Boykin is making his case for the trophy
Ezekiel Elliott Running Back OSU
Running back Ezekiel Elliott burst on the scene in Ohio State’s National Championship run last year. This year he’s flying under the radar because of other running backs garnering attention and the Quarterback struggles on his own team. Yet, all Elliot has shown is consistency, leading his team to an undefeated start with 729 rushing yards.
All the players above are hoping to continue their success throughout the season. However, some will inevitably struggle to maintain their pace for the Heisman allowing new contenders to emerge. Nonetheless, the Heisman race will continue to be a storyline to follow throughout the rest of the College Football season.
