Boys Varsity Soccer: The Boys Varsity Soccer team, led by seniors Justin Friendlander, Jonah Nielsen, and Drew Petkevich had a successful year. Overall, their record was 7-5-4 (5-2-3 in IAC) with standout wins over Landon 2-0, Episcopal 2-1, and Georgetown Prep 3-2 in overtime. The team made it to the semifinals, but unfortunately lost to Episcopal 2-1 at home. Senior Drew Petkevich said that “our loss to episcopal in the semifinals was a huge disappointment, but overall the team came together and had a great turnaround after starting 2-4-3.
Girls Varsity Soccer: Girls varsity soccer had a good season with a winning record, 8-7-1, led by seniors Emily Renkey, Julia Cogdell, and Lauren Halle. The girls had quality wins over Stone Ridge, Episcopal, and Georgetown Visitation. Julia Cogdell was glad about the overall result of their season: “I thought every member of this team put in their all. Although we did not win the ISL, it was definitely a positive experience.”
Boys Varsity Football: The boys varsity football had yet another outstanding season, winning the IAC and going undefeated in league play. After the team lost its first game of the season, they turned it around and won the next nine straight games. The team, led by seniors Devonte Williams and Jonathan Holland, finished fourth in the DMV. Devonte Williams had another outstanding year, having the most rushing yards total in the area. After the teams victory over Georgetown Prep 34-26 to win the IAC, senior Jonathan Holland said that “this was by far the best season during my time at Bullis. I am proud of everyone on the team for their hard work and determination to win back to back IAC championships.”
