With hard work and dedication, Bullis track won ISL’s and IAC’s last year, but those were not their biggest accomplishments. The Bullis track girls then went to the world championships and received eighth overall. After a disappointing performance at Penn relays, the boys side was determined to redeem themselves. The boys hit their stride in June and made a splash in national tournaments. Some of the success can definitely be pointed to coach Lee. Coach Lee has built this track program into something special. Lee has a connection with his team that many coaches lack; Lee received national honors in track and field and he knows how to win in high school and how to be successful after high school.
Coach Lee and the track team have huge expectations for the upcoming year.
Bryce Watson(18’), who is a major component in Lee’s squad “expects to be one of the best U.S track teams, running and field events”.
It is obvious that Lee’s runners are on the same page as him and they believe in his plan and what they are trying to accomplish. Even though the girls finished eighth in nationals, there are new faces to the girls track team will solidify an already accomplished squad.
Bullis track and field is sometimes in the shadow of big sports like lacrosse, football, soccer or basketball but this year’s track team hopes to change that.
