Clinton has been accused of being a people pleaser because she majorly alters her stance on topics depending on what the public wants her to say.
Bernie, however, is firm in his beliefs and it showed through his cadence, posture, and content throughout the debate. Although Bernie has been labeled as “too much of a socialist,” he believes that socialism is exactly what our country needs. He is a strong advocate for racial, gender, and economical equality in America.
Many people believe that Sanders’ stance on foreign policy is weak compared to his stance on domestic policy. This is because Bernie is knowledgeable of what our country needs right now: an internal fix. He believes America needs to focus on issues within our country because “the biggest threat to Americans is other Americans.”
Sanders stands out amongst the candidates because he can relate to the people of America, as he was “the only Democrat on the stage that is not a billionaire.” He wants equality for everyone in America. His desire to make America truly equal is genuine and sincere. Sanders has been involved in the fight for equality long before the election. In fact, he participated in the March on Washington in 1963 at 22 years old.
When the candidates were asked “Do black lives matter or do all lives matter?”, Sanders took the cake when he answered, “Black Lives Matter.”
Although all lives obviously matter, these three words were vital for Sanders to say, because other candidates were afraid to be upfront and say the three words. But Bernie did, which earned not only many black votes, but the votes of many people in America who constantly work towards equality for blacks and other people of color in America.
Bernie Sanders is an amazing candidate because of his honesty, passion, and genuine concern for all people of America.
