I just wanted to take some time to address a popular issue: haters. I know most of you have learned the difference between hating and other forms of disagreement, but this Hater Manual is sure to set the record straight once and for all.
There are multiple ways to look at this subject. The first kind of haters are the ones who hate just to hate; also known as the “Just Because” Haters. You walk in the room and they just do not like you for whatever reason. I just can’t wrap my head around the whole thing. Why are they so concerned with what someone else is doing? When you hate on someone, all you do is make them more popular because you keep talking about them.
“You ain’t nothing, Doctor Wiseman, you ain’t so great.” Okay, then why are you still talking about me then?
Then you have the “Just ‘Cuz” Haters. These are the most annoying kinds of haters. You walk into a room and they just do not like you. Why? “Just Cuz.” You haven’t given them any reason to hate you, yet they still just do not like you. Sometimes you can try to work around them, but honestly, these are the people you just want to avoid. If they don’t have a personal reason to dislike you, then they probably won’t ever get over it and sometimes there’s nothing you can do about it.
Then there are always people who mistake constructive criticism for hating. People try to give them genuine advice, but they just can’t get over themselves and realize it. To these people, I say stop being so self-conscious for once and just learn something new. You should be glad that you have people letting you know when you’re loafing and appreciate them instead of taking everything as an insult. Also, stop pretending to have haters when you really don’t. You’re the ones all over Twitter acting up, saying “shout out to my haters, you are my motivators” knowing good and well that you don’t have any. Come on, man.
Lastly, we have to take a look at the most common type of haters. That’s right, look to the person to your left and to your right; they’re all around you. Everyone has been a hater at some point in time. People always find negative things to say about each other and their motives can fall under any of these previously listed categories. Anyone who says they’ve never hated on anyone before is just full of it. It’s only natural to hate, everyone does it now and then, but just don’t let it get the best of you.
