Agege ‘16 developed a strong passion when “in May of last year the Chibok
girls in Nigeria went missing. I wanted students to be aware of issues affecting
people just like us around the world, and when I found out about Unicef club, I knew
it was the club I wanted to start to help me educate other students.”
Despite the fact that the club began mid-year, things have been going well.
Agege ’16 added, “Our club has been going great! We just started a project to get
school supplies to areas struck by natural disasters, war, and other things that
would prevent an area from being able to have schools.” Further, in order to raise
money, the club has held several bake sales and fundraisers.
The other new club at Bullis is Girl Up. Girl Up is a campaign to raise
awareness and funds for United Nations Programs that help girls in third world
countries. Madison Lotstein ‘16, Julia Asher ‘16 and Drew Kesterman ‘16 started the
Girl Up club. So far the club has worked to raise money to improve educational
opportunities and the health of girls in third world countries. The club is also
planning a Zengo fundraiser later this month.
