Would a schedule change be beneficial to the Bullis Upper School? After asking a few students in the Upper School, it was shown that the students want better management of the leisure time throughout their day, or even making enrichment periods optional.
One suggestion was to have a designated free time every day. This is beneficial for the Upper School as it secures a free period every day, and will prevent students from feeling piled up on Mondays, or Wednesday if their study hall is dropped, with no enrichment.
Another notable suggestion would be to add more time in between classes. Implementing this into the schedule would allow the flow of the day run much more smoothly, instead of rushing across campus to make it on time. This also can take away from the free time that students believe should become optional which makes the day feel less pointless towards the end of the day.
It’s clear that students are happy with the class rotations, and class time of the schedule. In total, students seem to only be interested in changing the excess time that must stay on the schedule, but can be used more wisely.
