Another tradition linked with the cereal drive is world hunger day, which takes place on April 14th. On this day, only rice and beans will be served for lunch, which serves to raise awareness of the starvation that takes place around the world, and the money saved is donated to organizations that fight hunger as well.
During last years drive, a total of 1,367 cereal boxes were collected. This years goal is to collect at least 1,500 boxes of cereal. If you haven’t already, bring in boxes of cereal before April 15th to help reach the goal, and most importantly, help fight hunger in Montgomery County.
