How have you two adjusted to your new positions?
L: Time management.
J: What?? No, let me answer. It’s going well! It took a little bit of adjustment because it took a little while to learn what our duties were and to get in the rhythm. [Lily laughs at Jack’s decision to use the word “rhythm”] Really? You’re going to laugh at that word? Ok.
What is your favorite part of the job?
L: I’m good at this one! I love that we get to interact with so many people and work to come up with new ideas.
J: For now, in the month of October, I like planning our spirit week and homecoming because that’s something I always look forward to and I’m just very excited to make it all happen and to make it a good year.
What is the most difficult part of the job?
L: Oh, I know. Definitely organizing people, everything we do we always meetings-like a ton of meetings every week-and it’s difficult organizing people and getting everything together but it always works out so it’s not much of a problem. Time management is….yeah.
What challenges have you faced so far, and what do you think your biggest challenge will be this year?
J: The biggest challenge...probably the first assembly because we didn’t really know what we were doing-
L: It took us like 5 hours to plan.
J: Yeah, we spent a lot of time on it and now we kind of got into a rhythm like I said before, so it s a little bit easier. And I think the most challenging thing we’ll face this year is probably the planning of homecoming, just because it’s a lot to do and a lot of people to organize. But we’re going to make a good one and it’s going to be a lot of fun. Make sure you put that in your article!
How do you want people to remember you?
L: Ooo...as a good, fun presidency!! No, on a serious note, I think I want people to think that we actually made a difference. I don’t anyone really realizes how much work this until they’re actually here. I for sure never thought that Brooke and Danny and Jack and Alessandra ever really had this much work to do. But, I don’t know..I like it, it keeps us busy!
J: I want to be remembered as spirited and fun and just having a good time and making things fun for everybody and incorporating as many people as we can.
What are you most excited about this year? What do you want to accomplish?
L: Oh, there’s a lot of things I want to do…
J: Coffee house!
L: Yeah, Jack’s really into the coffee house idea. Oh, we had a whole list of things and I think we’ll get more into them-
J: Top dogs!
L: Yeah, top dogs! Spirit really is a lot of it. And once homecoming settles down and once we’re more into the rhythm of planning assemblies, I think we’ll be able to actually go through with some of our ideas that we’ve come up with during the summer. Right?
