Many critics say the new change to the lunchroom is for the worse. This is explained to be a mess because it’s “hard to even get food on your plate” (Ashley Simmons ‘18). The new structure involves the salad bar in the back near the bagels, and two hot bars for food.
Other critics say that when the lunch has limited options and is not very good to many people, than the back of the lunch room will be very crowded and almost impossible to get salad, bagels, or sandwiches
The lunch room Streamlines the way to get food in orderly fashion. There are two hot bars that are near each other and one line on each side of the dining hall. This way, there is toppings in the middle for after you get your food. This way seems more orderly because before there was only one line to get into the cafeteria.
It is great that all different foods are in easy and in the right places. All the hot food you could possibly get is in the front, whereas the cold food is in the back. The hot food is usually what was prepared by the lunch staff.
Another great thing about the lunchroom is the lack of cluster because of the new hot bars. Now, it is clear where lines end and the lines are even shorter. It’s much easier to get food now also. Although kids have complained, the future is bright especially because the students forget there is already food sitting at their tables.
The new structure in the lunchroom can improve, but is the best option we have had as students to get food easily.
