Many members of the community have family traditions that they uphold every year. Jebreel Adonis (‘17) said “My grandma comes over and we just have breakfast, open presents, then chill and usually have dinner later with someone else in the family.”
There are families that travel to places such as Disneyland, Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico to see their extended family. There are some people like Katura Britt (‘17) who simply have a staycation and celebrate by hanging out with family members. Britt (‘17) said “I enjoy the family time, it brings us closer together. We decorate the house, watch movies, and listen to holiday music.”
New years is also part of our break and is a very exciting time as the new year begins. A lot of student stay home, watch the clock, and at 12 they drink apple cider with their families. Others go to parties and some even go to New York to watch the ball drop! These are all great ways to celebrate the holidays and we hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday!
