There are many perks of attending Bullis. One of these advantages are how well the school prepares students for college both academically and socially.  I recently caught up with 3 Bullis alumni who are performing exceptionally in their new schools.

In interviews with many Bullis alumni, almost every single person that was interviewed claimed that their transition into college had been flawless.  “My transition to college has been smooth. Bullis prepared me very well, especially academically” said Devonte Williams (‘15), who is playing football at Indiana University for the Hoosiers.

Courtney Rau (‘15), who is attending Syracuse to pursue Journalism claimed, “My college transition has been really smooth. I’ve really enjoyed my first few months here at Syracuse.” Among all of the students I interviewed, one similarity between all of them was that they all felt that the lessons instilled in them at Bullis prepared them for college life, and is the key reason they are having success so far in college. However, all had different reasons for how they feel Bullis prepared them for college. Former upper school co- president Kyle Greenberg stated, “I find that Bullis instilled great habits in me. Time management is very important in college and I think Bullis does a great job in making that a priority in the learning process here.” Kyle Greenberg is now attending Syracuse university.

Courtney Rau (‘16) claims that Bullis taught her how to balance herself well between all aspects of college life and is a large part of her success in college.

A common theme among these Bullis alumni is that life at Bullis is similar to college life, and has made them all feel comfortable in their new homes. Devonte Williams (‘15) stated, “My Bullis experience is similar to my college experience in the aspect that I'm comfortable with speaking to anyone. At Bullis, everyone had open arms to helping everyone. And I feel the same way here. The only difference is the fact that there's 50 thousand people that attend my school now opposed to 800 students.”

When it came to advice for current seniors, every alumni had the same message.. “Enjoy everyday. Bullis is a great place and you should enjoy it while you can. Don’t rush your year away. Even the little things. This is the last time of your life that you will have to ask to go to the bathroom. Enjoy how silly that is.” said Kyle Greenberg (‘16). “cherish every moment you have left at Bullis. Even though super exciting times are ahead, don’t let the present slip away.” says Courtney Rau (‘16).  Devonte Williams (‘15) says “enjoy every moment you have with their senior group and the school as a whole because you only get one high school experience.”

With the tools presented by Bullis, any student has the ability to reach their full potential and be successful, just like these alumni.
