Sleep Cycle is a health and wellness app designed to help students get the most out of their night sleep.
“The primary thing that gets in the way of a student’s success is bad nutrition, poor sleep hygiene, and absenteeism due to sickness or illness,” said Eist. Improving sleep hygiene is exactly what Sleep Cycle is designed to do.
The app is a combination of an alarm clock and your own personal sleep study team. It works by placing your phone on your mattress when you go to sleep and throughout the night, the app detects the various movements and vibrations of your bed throughout the night. Then, in the morning, the app gives you a report on how well of a night sleep you are getting based on the movement detected.
In addition, the app includes features such as an activity journal in which you enter your daily activities before going to bed and in the morning, your sleep report will attempt to pinpoint the activity that caused your restless night.
You can currently get Sleep Cycle on the iTunes app store for $ 0.99 and a different version known as Sleep Cycle Alarm is sold on the Android market for $1.79.
