March of 2018 marks the start of an exciting stretch of concerts right here in the DMV. For fans of hip hop, young up and comer “Lil Xan” is performing live March 5th at the U Street Music Hall in DC, promoting his upcoming album “Total Xanarchy.” Two weeks later, rapper G-Eazy will be doing a show at the DAR Constitution Hall in DC. The last week of March may contain the most anticipated hip hop concert of the year so far: rapper Lil Skies is performing at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, Maryland. 11th grader Charles Jundanian says, “Lil Skies is an artist who is transforming the game.” Coming on a Wednesday night, however, may not have been the best move for Skies; attendance will most likely decline because it’s a school night.
For music enthusiasts who tend to lean towards live, the revered opera Don Carlo will be performed by the Washington National Opera at the Kennedy Center from March 3 to March 17. With music by Giuseppe Verdi, the show encompasses the conflict between members of a royal family in 16th century Spain. The following month, Hamilton will begin their 10 week run of performances at the Kennedy Center. Tickets for opening week are already long sold out, so get your tickets soon if this is something that interests you.
