H to the izz-O, V to the izz-A, last Thursday night at the Verizon Center in Washington DC, Jay Z put on an incredible performance with songs from almost every album he has ever produced. The highlighted songs were from his new album Magna Carta Holy Grail, which was released back in July of 2013. The show was absolutely jaw dropping. The performance captivated the audience and solidifying Jay Z’s reputation of being one of the best in the industry.
Jay Z has been capturing the attention of all ages since the release of his first album back in 1996, Reasonable Doubt. Since then has released more than 10 studio albums along with various other collaboration albums. With his latest album, Magna Carta, he has once again captivated his listeners and created something unlike any other musician.
The concert was a true representation of not only his incredible music but also his loyal followers that he has amassed over his years in the music industry. Some of the highlights included “Tom Ford”, “My Beach is Better”, “99 Problems”, “Empire State of Mind”, “Dirt of your Shoulder”, “Encore”, and “Forever Young”. Jay gave a special mention to the great Nelson Mandela with the last song “Forever Young”, which had the Verizon Center lit up with all of the attendees’ cellphones and lighters.
The high level of energy and lights that lit up the entire Verizon Center paid tribute to Jay Z and the amazing feat he has accomplished. There was an explosive vitality among the audience that had everyone on their feet for the whole show, putting their diamonds up in the air for H.O.V.A.
