This Jazz cafe will be senior night where the seniors perform solos from their capstone projects and will have more time to shine on stage. “I am looking forward to making my last Jazz Café and senior night be memorable for both me and the audience by playing things that I have worked on during my Capstone course as well as some other small group songs.” siad Sean Hopkins(18).
Some songs you may recognize are Giant Steps, Hot 8, and one for my baby. these are some featured songs along with other big names
The Jazz cafe has come a long way from a small performance to a nightclub look-alike. “The Jazz Café has evolved from being a small event to something that many outside of the music department look forward to attending especially senior night”, said Sean Hopkins (‘18).
The jazz students prepare all year for this big event. They practice everyday in class and at home. “I prepare for the Jazz Café by mostly playing in class as well as practicing outside of class with a private lesson teacher and some practice at home,” said Hopkins(‘18).
Each student has their own approach to the night, but one thing is the same throughout and that is be ready to perform.
