Many have called this the generation of television. Critics are criticizing mainstream cinema in lacking i quality and depth while television has been receiving increasing critical acclaim for television. Foreign films have always received acclaim in providing different themes and ideas to cinema that was not in the scope of most American films. Directors like Krzystof Piesiewicz, Nicolas Winding Refn, Sebastian Silva and numerous other directors have made a serious impact in contemporary world cinema; but in the genration of television maybe instead of looking and creative innnovators in cinema, we ought to look at foriegn television for new and intriguing ideas in visual art. Here are my three favorite foreign television shows:

Monique Muse (‘16) is an amazingly talented student artist who has contributed many paintings, sculptures and drawings to the Bullis Art Program. Monique’s primary focus is painting, as she studies fauvism. She is also a part of the signature program for art. If you’ve ever been in the presence of Monique, you may describe her as a poised, reserved and sweet girl...but there’s much more to her overall persona. Her fascinating artwork speaks for her as an individual.
